A lifetime interest in dolls and doll collecting has led Dee to create a business supplying fabulous affordable finds for the 18" doll, such as 'The American Girl. Items that are accessories, including shoes, socks, and a few pieces of manufactured clothing, are available for purchase at our Winslow studios, or by contacting Dee by email. One-of-a-kind clothing pieces are handmade, and besides being pictured here are also listed for sale at www.Etsy.com/DoozieStore. Etsy makes purchasing easy with PayPal, but they represent only handmade or vintage items, so items that are manufactured are not available there unless they are part of an ensemble.

While you may stop in the studio by appointment and purchase from our stock, a range of available items is presented here on our web site so that you can admire our selection at your leisure and decide which of our products will be the best additions for your doll's wardrobe. One of our Island customers recently hosted an American Girl birthday party for her daughter and a group of her friends. This savvy Mom bought 11 plain white T-shirts, which she provided to the girls to decorate. (This could also be done using the cool colored visors we carry!) The Mom provided decorative elements for the girls to use, and then each doll went home with a new shirt.

Look for Doozie for Dolls at the new swap meets behind the Silver Star Trading Post at 382 Madison Avenue North, right across from the Pavilion. We'll be there selling on July 24th and August 21st, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There will also be other vendors selling a variety of items!

If the child in your life prefers a particular color or style of garment, you are invited to purchase fabrics of your choice to have made into custom doll garments. Dee maintains a selection of fabrics on hand for use in making doll clothing, and Esther's, the sewing shop in Winslow, maintains a large stock of appropriate fabrics and trims of all sorts. Having the doll's owner select her own colors and styles allows her to exercise her personal creativity, and can provide family members with a bonding experience.

Pricing for each outfit will be determined by the design, and will be scaled back from the normal workroom rates. Matching accessories are available for sale.

Beginning during the holiday season of 2009, Dee and a friend joined together to purchase new 18" dolls and create custom wardrobes for them, and then to donate everything to local charities. We now invite YOU to join us in creating extensive doll trousseaux to donate to local auctions and fund raisers.

Most major American sewing pattern companies have numerous patterns for clothing to fit the 18" doll, whether one prefers the historical characters or more modern attire. Making doll clothing is a great way to utilize leftover fabric scraps, ribbons and laces, and is a marvelous creative outlet that can be exercised at one's leisure throughout the year. Brigade members may also wish to purchase doll accessories to be presented along with the clothing, and are welcome to request that particular items be stocked.
